Lorna is a senior associate in our professional liability team, in London.  With nearly 15 years working in the insurance market and insurance disputes, Lorna qualified as a solicitor at a specialist insurance firm in 2011 and joined Kennedys in 2017. 

Lorna has acted in the defence of a broad range of claims against professionals, including claims against legal professionals, accountants and independent financial advisors, as well as construction professionals, including architects and surveyors.  She has a particular interest in claims against IT professionals and technology and media disputes and is currently working on a number of matters relating to the design of bespoke technology platforms, document and workflow management systems, websites and apps. 

Her experience covers many aspects of dispute resolution including pre-action, County, High Court and Court of Appeal litigation (including trials and interlocutory applications), and mediation.  Lorna also has experience of costs recovery and enforcement claims, as well as company restoration proceedings.

Lorna regularly acts in policy coverage disputes relating to professional indemnity and D&O wordings, including attending market meetings and liaising with excess layer insurers and brokers.  

Lorna’s experience includes successful secondments to a third-party claims administrator for major London market insurers, an international Lloyd’s insurer (twice) and has attended advice clinics at an international insurer, providing advice on claims and coverage queries relating to PI/FI, tech and D&O lines of business.

Lorna is also a member of the Evolve with Kennedys Committee.
