Daniel is a Partner in the London office who specialises in complex coverage matters across all industries with a focus on aviation and aerospace including hull, cargo and liability.

Daniel always provides innovative - but commercially palatable - solutions to disagreements over coverage to his insurer and reinsurer client base.  He has been involved with losses valued at up to US$400 million.

He also often advises in relation to coverage matters involving electrical, industrial, mechanical or chemical.

In addition to a strong coverage practice, Daniel continues to advise the corporate and specialty insurance markets on complex liability defence.

He has handled and monitored claims across numerous jurisdictions; including UK, Europe, the US, South America and Africa. He deals routinely with insurance (and reinsurance) coverage, defence and regulatory matters where losses have arisen throughout the world.

His extensive cross-class experience has been of distinct benefit to insurers when reviewing and drafting complex policy wordings.
He has been instructed on a number of the insurance market’s most complex and sensitive claims and acted for the successful insurer in the now leading authority on the concept of “reasonable settlement” – Siemens Building Technologies Ltd v Supershield Ltd, at both first instance and in the Court of Appeal.

Daniel is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers, and has frequently contributed to internal publications and seminars.
