- Defending a wide range of clinical negligence claims, including catastrophic claims, on behalf of the Hospital Authority, Medical Protection (MPS), and international insurers including Chubb, Allied World, and QBE
- Advising and representing doctors and allied healthcare professionals in disciplinary proceedings before regulatory bodies, including investigations and Inquiry hearings before the Medical Council of Hong Kong
- Advising healthcare professionals on various medico-legal matters including patient complaints, practice promotion, and appropriate levels of PPE during the Covid-19 outbreak
- Previously acted for the Plaintiff/Applicant in successful trials/assessments (including Lee Yam Kan v Ng Pui Kuen t/a Wing Sing Scaffolding Engineering and Anor  HKCFI 452; Pak Sai Ming v J V Fitness Ltd  HKDC 692; and Heung Wing Yan v Hangway Housing Management Ltd and Ors  HKCFI 1709), as well as acting in successful contested interlocutory applications (including disapplication of time limitation, leave to adduce expert medical evidence, and applications for costs orders)
Daniel is a Senior Associate in the Healthcare Team Hong Kong. Qualified in Hong Kong, Daniel focuses on acting for healthcare providers and indemnity providers, including Medical Protection, the Hospital Authority, and other international medical insurers, with disciplinary investigations and defending medical negligence claims (including those arising from catastrophic injuries) and general medico-legal advice.
Prior to his healthcare focus, Daniel represented Plaintiffs and Applicants in personal injuries and employees’ compensation cases respectively, either upon the instructions of the Director of Legal Aid or on a private basis, and has extensive experience in handling contentious interlocutory applications and trials. Daniel is fluent in English and conversational in Cantonese.
