Lesley is a Senior Associate in our Edinburgh office. She qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and joined Kennedys in 2016. Lesley also qualified as a Solicitor Advocate in 2016, enjoying rights of audience in the Court of Session and the UK Supreme Court.
Lesley acts for insurers and brokers, small and medium commercial enterprises as well as private individuals. She has conducted cases in the Sheriff Court (both civil and criminal), the Court of Session and the UK Supreme Court, as well as proceedings before tribunals and professional regulatory panels throughout Scotland.
Between 2013 and 2015 Lesley was the Law Clerk to the Lord President of the Court of Session, where she assisted Scotland’s most senior judge with his judicial functions. This involved researching the law, preparing for appeal hearings in both civil and criminal cases and assisting with the drafting of judgments. The role provided her with an invaluable insight into the inner workings of the Court of Session, placing her in a unique position to advise clients on the substantive law, strategy and court procedure.
Lesley holds a Master of Laws (By Research) from the University of Glasgow in respect of her thesis on causation in medical negligence cases. She is also a part-time tutor at the University of Edinburgh on the delictual liability (tort) course.
