Sebastian is a Senior Associate from our Bogota office, who specializes in litigation and arbitration in complex insurance and reinsurance disputes. He holds a Master’s Degree in Tort Law from Universitat de Girona (Spain) and diplomas in Insurance and Aviation Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he received his lawyers’ degree.
He has successfully represented insurers and reinsurers in complex and high-value claims, focusing his litigation practice in Energy, Construction, Oil & Gas, Financial Lines, Telecommunications, Casualty, Liability and Aviation disputes. He has relevant experience handling disputes before Arbitration Tribunals, Civil and Administrative Courts, Regulation Authorities and works in complex claims associated with renowned and high-impact public and private projects.
Sebastian is also a certified Secretary for Arbitration Tribunals under Bogota’s Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Center, one of the most recognised arbitration venues in Latin America. He is also a law professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where he teaches Tort Law in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He has also taught Evidence Law, Civil Procedural Law and Aviation Law. He is an active member of the Colombian Civil Liability Institute (IARCE).
