Patric is a partner based in the Birmingham office and has 20 years’ PQE. He specialises in professional indemnity and directors’ and officers’ claims.
He provides policy advice to insurers on the scope of cover, applicable exclusions and notification. Patric also acts for directors and officers in defence of claims relating to property management, waste re-cycling, environmental pollution, harassment and investor claims. He works closely with others in the firm on claims relating to employment, discrimination and health and safety.
In addition he handles professional indemnity claims against solicitors, construction, professionals, surveyors and accountants.
Patric also has expertise in commercial litigation defence, recoveries and coverage in property claims including first and third party claims arising from fire, explosion, flood, collapse, environmental contamination and subsidence.
Patric has handled a number of complex and high value claims including the negotiated resolution of a £1m claim against a former company director for alleged failure to follow the “whitewash procedure” in a multi-party dispute. He has a good track record of resolving claims by negotiation at an early stage to save defence costs and personal angst.
He is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers, and regularly contributes to Kennedys’ London Market Brief. In addition, he regularly lectures and provides in house training on a number of topics.
