Daniel is an Associate in the Austin office. He works with some of the largest insurers and reinsurers in addressing questions of coverage and third party claims. His litigation experience encompasses all aspects of coverage defense, from pre-suit investigation to final resolution through settlement, mediation, arbitration, and trial. Daniel specializes in the structure and nuances of CGL policies, E&O policies, D&O policies, garage policies, builders risk policies, excess coverage, umbrella coverage, surplus lines, and insurance 

In addition to coverage defense, Daniel also advises business clients with respect to complex transactions, commercial litigation, Electronically-Stored Information (ESI) and e-discovery services, and professional liability claims. Before joining Kennedys, Daniel had a proven record of success in representing sureties nationwide in federal and state courts, prevailing in numerous multi-million dollar arbitrations, defending clients against claims sounding in professional liability and contract, and over three years of appellate experience as a staff attorney in the Texas appellate courts.

Daniel earned his Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Texas in Austin, and he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pepperdine School of Law. He also received a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the premier Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law.

Daniel is a member of the Insurance Law section of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas and the federal district courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas. Other professional affiliations include the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society, the Austin Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
