Kennedys appointed to new Zurich panel across APAC

Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) has appointed Kennedys to its new legal claims panel to provide advice on the management of large and complex claims across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

The latest panel appointment complements the firm’s existing country panel arrangements with the insurer, which also includes EMEA, providing the greatest benefit to claims that arise from Zurich International Programs, where more than one legal jurisdiction may be involved.

For Zurich, launching this global network for APAC is another proof point in our delivery of our Zurich Claims’ commitment, enabling us to improve our trend analysis within Claims and facilitate proactive decision-making.

Kennedys has a long-standing relationship with Zurich across the globe and this latest strategic partnership will now see the firm operate across Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia as well as Europe, Russia and the Middle East. The panel appointment is valid for two years, effective from 1 March 2021.

Zurich Group Chief Claims Officer Ian Thompson said: “We’re evolving our long-standing relationship with Kennedys by introducing the new legal panel within APAC. I’m delighted to build on the success of this trusted partnership and what we’ve achieved so far with legal panel arrangements in other parts of Zurich. Our international customers will benefit from an expert level of legal insight and more consistent experience, particularly where coverage spans multiple jurisdictions. For Zurich, launching this global network for APAC is another proof point in our delivery of our Zurich Claims’ commitment, enabling us to improve our trend analysis within Claims and facilitate proactive decision-making.”

Chris Dunn, global head of marine and a member of Kennedys’ strategy board, says:

We’re thrilled that our long-standing relationship with Zurich continues to grow. We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with them, providing the deep market insights which our global network provides us with.

Kennedys’ strategy to grow in the territories needed to meet client demand has seen the firm open 15 new offices since 2017 and form a number of strategic partnerships. The firm now has 42 offices and more than 2,250 staff across the globe.
