Chambers Europe 2023: Kennedys achieves rankings in Denmark, France, Ireland and Spain

In the latest Chambers & Partners guide to outstanding law firms and lawyers, Kennedys' teams in Paris, Madrid, Dublin and Copenhagen have been ranked by Chambers Europe 2023 for their work in insurance, dispute resolution, healthcare and shipping.

Achieving a Band 2 ranking for 'Insurance (France)' for the third consecutive year, the team in Paris was praised for their ability "to deal with a high level of complexity", and for their "well-resourced team with a multi-jurisdictional reach". In addition, managing partner of Kennedys' Paris office, Alexis Valençon was ranked once again, with one client stating that "he very strong strategically. He is able to anticipate future issues and challenges almost before they develop".

In Madrid, the team also maintained their ranking for 'Insurance (Spain)' (Band 3), with a market insider highlighting that they have "very strong commercial understanding [and] a good view of the insurance market." With regards to individual acclaim, leading partner Olivia Delagrange, who this year "climbs up a tier due to strong market support" for her ranking in insurance, also achieved a new accolade for 'Shipping (Spain)', and was recommended for being "an excellent communicator". Fellow Madrid colleague and Senior Associate Marta Parrondo, maintained her ranking as an Up and Coming Lawyer. A client affirmed that "Marta is always on top of what was going on, and she coordinated [our] case brilliantly."

In Copenhagen, Morten Christenson, managing partner of Kennedys in Denmark has again been recognised as a Notable Practitioner for 'Dispute Resolution (Denmark)', and was praised for being "responsive, good technically and having a can-do attitude".

In Dublin, Kennedys has moved up to Band 3 in 'Insurance: Dispute Resolution (Ireland)', and Partner David Strahan was recognised as a Notable Practitioner, with one client saying that his "knowledge, accessibility and pragmatism are key strengths. He adopts a pragmatic approach and is outcome-oriented". Partner Andrew MacGahey joined the rankings this year and was praised for his work on coverage disputes, reinsurance and damage claims.

Dublin partner Joanne O'Sullivan also received a new accolade for 'Dispute Resolution: Healthcare Litigation (Ireland)'. A client said: "she offers superb customer service, and is extremely accessible and practical, offering sensible solutions to problems in addition to her extensive legal expertise."
