Collective redress: the impact and implementation of the EU Directive on representative actions
This webinar has now taken place, but please complete our form if you would like to be sent a copy of the recording.
Over the last decade the European Commission has worked towards providing the means by which EU consumers can bring collective actions in respect of infringements of EU law, referred to as ‘collective redress’. This led to the publication on 4 December 2020 of the Directive on representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers (2020/1828).
We are delighted to be holding this webinar where we will provide comparative insights into pre-existing national collective redress mechanisms, or the absence thereof, in key European jurisdictions including Brussels, Denmark, France, Ireland, Portugal and the Netherlands. We will also discuss the challenges and risks that these countries will face in implementing the Directive and the parallel collective action development in the UK.
