ECHA guidance on rectifying information gaps in dossiers
According to the European Chemicals Agency’s (ECHA) annual evaluation statistics, in 2021, 93% of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) Regulation dossiers that were cross checked for full compliance required further data outlining the long-term effects of certain chemicals on human health or the environment.

Public access to ECHA’s chemicals database on substances of very high concern: improved consumer and supply chain awareness or heightened legal risks?
Recently, the European Chemicals Agency database of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) has been opened to allow the public to access it. The database lists details of articles containing SVHCs across a broad range of product categories, from food, footwear to foodstuffs. However, this development brings with it both opportunities, but also risks.
