Kennedys celebrates 10th anniversary of Miami regional hub, the gateway to Latin America
This year marks 10 years since the opening of Kennedys’ office in Miami, our regional hub serving Latin America and the Caribbean.
Kennedys was the first global insurance law firm to open an office in Miami, and since its creation in 2010, our regional hub has led Kennedys' footprint and expansion of the network in the region. Kennedys now has the largest reach of any (re)insurance law firm with offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru and four associate offices in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Panama and Puerto Rico.
Kennedys’ objective in Latin America has always been to assist our clients, mainly reinsurers with business in this region, in the handling of large and complex claims, together with an understanding the nuances of the unique regulatory frameworks in each of the jurisdictions. Our expansion throughout Latin America over the past decade has enabled us to draw on local perspectives, whilst keeping an overarching view of wider trends in the market.
Alex Guillamont, Head of Kennedys’ Latin America and the Caribbean practice, says: “We are very proud of reaching this milestone and grateful to our team in the region and also to our clients that have always supported us through all these years. One of the biggest advantages of having a presence in Miami, besides being the gateway to Latin America, is that many of our most important clients have its regional offices here, facilitating frequent contact with decision makers generating work for the regional hub and also for the rest of the Kennedys offices in the region.”
Kennedys’ Latin America network boasts over 100 lawyers and has been recognized by legal directories such The Legal 500 Latin America 2021, Chambers & Partners, along with being noted in the Gracechurch London Market Insurance Law Report 2020 as one of the preferred firms by its clients.
