Our two-year training contract allows you to develop relevant experience and skills that will set you up in your career as a solicitor. During your training contract, you’ll complete four six-month seats in different teams across our core practice areas of insurance and reinsurance, liability and commercial.
We offer training to ensure that you are supported throughout your training contract. You’ll be given the opportunity to attend in-house and external seminars, whilst having access to a large array of online skills and technical learning via our learning management system.
Before starting your training contract, we ask our future trainees to attend the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and where applicable the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) at BPP. We will fund your course fees for the LPC and PGDL and provide a maintenance grant during these study periods.

Scotland Traineeship
Our two-year traineeship is based in our Edinburgh office, working on a both Insurance and Liability cases. During your training, you will be allocated a supervisor who will conduct quarterly performance reviews with you to discuss progression and development and ensure you are working to achieve the Professional Education and Training Stage 2 (PEAT 2). Before starting your traineeship, you must have completed a law undergraduate degree and completed the Diploma in Legal Practice. Kennedys will fund your course fees for the Diploma in Legal Practice and provide a maintenance grant during the study period.

Dublin Training Contracts
Our two-year training contract, based in our Dublin office, will be the start of an exciting and successful career with a global law firm.
At Kennedys, you will gain early responsibility and client contact developing you into an excellent solicitor, capable of running your own caseload once qualified.
Throughout your training contract, you will be supported by senior solicitors and partners to develop you into a competent, confident and commercially driven lawyer.
