Q&A

What type of cases do you work on?

My practice focuses on insurance coverage matters.  This includes coverage litigation, such as declaratory judgment or bad faith actions, as well as advising industry client on insurance matters outside of litigation.

What do you find most challenging about your job?

Insurance coverage matters can often involve situations where multiple states’ laws can be implicated, so you must be knowledgeable not only of your “home” state’s laws, but be aware of coverage law in a number of other jurisdictions as well.

What is most interesting about your job?

When you think about it, insurance touches almost every industry.  Because of that, working in the insurance coverage field can enable you to work on cases in a wide variety of fields, such as shipping, construction, professional liability, and natural disasters. This keeps things interesting!

What advice would you give someone interested in going into law?

Don’t be afraid to try several different areas of law before you narrow your focus to a single specialty.  You don’t know what you like until you try it.
