Pa.'s insurance data security law—getting ready for the second phase

Kennedys' partner Joshua Mooney and associate Ashley Pusey authored an article titled “Pa.'s Insurance Data Security Law—Getting Ready for the Second Phase,” which was published in The Legal Intelligencer.

The article discusses Pennsylvania’s enactment of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Model Law on Insurance Data Security, with a staggered implementation beginning in December 2023. The second phase, effective December 11, 2024, requires licensees to conduct risk assessments, implement written cybersecurity programs, and in some cases, publicly certify compliance—making immediate preparation essential.
