Shi Yan Lee
Profile
Shi Yan is a Senior Associate in Kennedys’ Aviation and Shipping teams based in Singapore. He has experience in aviation disputes advising insurers, airlines, regulators, ground handlers, and maintenance organisations, handling complex, cross-border disputes and non-contentious matters like coverage advice, contractual liability, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Prior to returning to Kennedys, Shi Yan served as Registrar at the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) where he administered its caseload and led efforts for the international adoption of its Rules. Shi Yan also led SCMA’s revision of their SCMA Arbitration (3rd ed.) Rules.
Outside of private practice, Shi Yan has experience as sole Group Corporate Counsel to a listed medical company and was Managing Director in a mental healthcare company. He is also a trained private pilot.
Shi Yan is qualified in Singapore as an advocate and solicitor and admitted to practice to the Australian legal profession as a lawyer. He is Honorary Legal Advisor to a healthcare cooperative and appointed to its Committee of Management.
