Ryan is an Associate in Kennedys Singapore office specialising aviation liability and regulatory matters.

Ryan advises both local and international stakeholders in the aviation industry including commercial airlines, business jet operators, general aviation operators, ground handlers, MROs, and their (re)insurers — on a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters. His work spans passenger, baggage, cargo, and aircraft/property damage claims, as well as a range of regulatory and advisory issues.

Prior to joining Kennedys in 2025, Ryan interned with a leading Middle Eastern airline, where he supported the in-house legal team on aviation-related matters. Ryan holds a LLM in Air and Space Law from the International Institute of Air and Space Law, Leiden University, in the Netherlands. Ryan has been working in the legal industry since his first job as a law clerk in 2018.

Work highlights

  • Advising and defending (re)insurers  in respect of insurance related sanctions and coverage issues / loss of aircraft arising out of the Russia Ukraine crisis in 2022.
  • Advising airlines, aircraft operators and their (re)insurers in relation to regional contentious and advisory issues including major carriers in Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.
  • Advising on aircraft ground collision incidents and consequential claims in South Korea and Japan.
