Nathaniel is an Associate based in Kennedys' Singapore office. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2021.
After attaining his Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore, Nathaniel completed his training and commenced his legal practice at a leading firm in Singapore. He was involved in a wide range of cross-border work, acting for global commercial insurers, banks, traders and shipping companies.
Nathaniel's experience includes several complex high-profile cases, successfully representing clients before the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) and in a cross-border arbitration under the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Rules. He also frequently provides drafting advice on various types of commercial agreements.
Nathaniel’s practice currently consists of matters primarily in the area of insurance, reinsurance and its related sectors. His practice extends to other areas such as advising on alternative dispute resolution, international sanction regimes and financing agreements.
Work highlights
- Acting for a Fortune 100 international commercial reinsurer and its Lloyd’s market syndicate to advise on coverage issues in respect of claims made by various aircraft operators arising from recent UK and EU sanctions imposed against Russia.
- Acting for Indonesia’s largest independent power producer in an arbitration under the SIAC Rules in relation to its claims under a supply and services contract arising from an explosion and fire to a power plant.
