Ricardo Sateler

Ricardo Sateler is a lawyer qualified to practice in Chile. He studied at the University of Chile and Columbia University, NYC.

Ricardo is currently of counsel at the Kennedys Chile office. He has extensive experience in insurance law, specializing in coverage issues, reinsurance, subrogation, and legal advice in large and complex claims.

He has advised on the management of many of the largest claims in Chile, in areas such as mining, energy, infrastructure, and civil liability. He provided counsel to various insurers regarding major claims caused by the 2010 earthquake and the political unrest at the end of 2019.

Ricardo has taught insurance law at Chile's top universities and has delivered numerous conferences both in Chile and abroad.

Ricardo is a member of the Expert Commission, appointed by the Minister of Justice for the preparation of the regulatory project that resulted in Law 20.667, which governs insurance contracts in Chile.
