Stephen is a marine, energy and transportation attorney with diversified experience, representing insurers and reinsurers with respect to coverage matters; or, coverage having been accepted, representing assureds in defense of disputes through the process of mediation, arbitration or litigation. He is an accomplished federal and state trial lawyer handling complex litigation involving major casualties; and other litigation involving insurance, reinsurance, marine, energy, hull, protection and indemnity, liability, cargo, air, environmental, pollution, RICO, business interruption, transportation, personal injury, health hazard, and property damage matters. He develops and monitors systems for centralized management of mass litigation nationwide. His practice as a senior insurance attorney includes providing coverage opinions, as well as declination or reservation of rights proposals, for underwriters worldwide with respect to marine, energy, inland marine, hull, cargo, charterer’s liability, shipyard liability, comprehensive general liability, warehouse legal liability, shipper’s interest, yacht, freight forwarder liability, terminal operator liability, business interruption, marine environmental/pollution, wharfinger’s liability, builder’s risk, stevedore’s liability, protection & indemnity, reinsurance and excess policies.
