Penelope Romero

Penelope graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho and holds postgraduate diplomas in Business Law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and in Personal Data Protection from the Escuela Libre de Derecho.

Penelope joined Kennedys in October 2017 and currently serves as a Senior Associate in the firm’s Mexico City office.

She began her professional career in the insurance sector in 2015, conducting coverage analysis for property, liability, life, and major medical expenses insurance products at a Mexican insurer with international operations.

At Kennedys, Penelope advises clients on large and complex claims and leads the firm’s regulatory and compliance practice in Mexico. In this capacity, she provides legal counsel to domestic and international insurers, insurance and reinsurance intermediaries, as well as corporate entities outside the insurance sector seeking to enter the market.
