Nick Paterson

Nick is an Associate in Kennedys’ Melbourne insurance team specialising in professional indemnity and construction matters. He acts for insurers and their policyholders in contentious and non-contentious matters. Nick is experienced in managing commercial construction disputes and has successfully defended building surveyors, architects, draftsmen and engineers in simple and complex proceedings. He also acts for psychologists and NDIS service providers in regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings and financial professionals such as brokers and accountants. He is passionate about the services he provides and is a collaborative, approachable practitioner. Nick is a fervent believer that quality legal representation should be accessible to all people. At his previous firm, he was the Pro Bono Coordinator for Victoria between 2023 and 2024. He has experience liaising with community legal centres and Justice Connect to arrange pro bono legal services for at-risk individuals. He has previously been a member of the Building Dispute Practitioners Society and Young Insurance Professionals (YIPs).
