Carolyn is a Special Counsel in Kennedys’ Melbourne insurance team specialising in professional indemnity, financial lines, trade credit and coverage advice. She acts for local and international insurers in professional indemnity and financial lines claims involving a range of professional groups, including finance (financial advisers, mortgage brokers and insurance brokers), medical (psychologists, osteopaths and Chinese medicine practitioners), construction (architects, draftspersons and engineers) and real estate agents.

Carolyn also has extensive experience in liability and property damage claims, and has advised on life insurance claims, management liability and general liability claims.

Additionally, she has acted for marine and transport insurers / Clubs and their members and insureds, including freight forwarders, ship owners and road transport providers. She was recently involved in providing advice on complex claims arising from international commodity trades and trade credit insurance.

Carolyn has close to 20 years' litigation and commercial experience including in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Federal Court of Australia, High Court of Australia and the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal. She also acts in regulatory proceedings, including investigations commenced by professional bodies and disciplinary panels.

She previously worked as a claims consultant for a number of years in the professional risks team for a major insurer, and is a former treasurer of the industry focussed Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum.
