Jessica Tham
Profile
Jessica Tham is an associate in the tax disputes and investigations team and also supports the commercial disputes practice. She qualified as a solicitor in 2020 and regularly advises corporate clients, insurers, and high-net-worth individuals on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious tax matters, including direct tax enquiries, cross-border tax risks arising in corporate M&A, and large-scale HMRC investigations. With a background in media and intellectual property, she has particular expertise in helping clients—especially in the technology and big tech sectors—navigate complex interactions with tax authorities and develop alternative commercial dispute resolution strategies.
Her practice also extends to broader financial crime and regulatory issues, including AML compliance, internal investigations into fraud, money laundering, and bribery, as well as customs and excise matters. She frequently assists clients challenging penalty notices, voluntary disclosures, and managing sensitive engagements with tax authorities. Before moving into tax, Jessica worked as an insurance litigator, acting for defendant insurers on complex public liability claims both in-house and in private practice.
With experience spanning the UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong—and having completed her dual qualification as a solicitor in Hong Kong—she brings a truly international perspective to her practice and to the clients she advises.
