Marcelo is an Associate at our office in Lima, Peru.

He started his career at Kennedys, focused on insurance regulation and compliance. Later on, Marcelo’s practice veered onto coverage advice and analysis of Property & Casualty claims for the (re)insurance market. 

Marcelo has a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, which he obtained with distinction. His areas of interest are financial lines and corporate commercial law.

Marcelo also assists clients in connection to national and international arbitration disputes.

  • Counsel to insurance carrier in a USD 2.2 MM claim, related to fire loss at a paperboard fabric.
  • Advice to insurer in relation to involuntary manslaughter from an employee of the insured, whilst serving as a security mall guard.
  • Advice on application to LEG clauses in relation to a USD 200MM claim due to alleged defects on a mine’s oxide plant.
  • Coverage advice to reinsurers on a series of claims under CAR policies arising from El Niño associated occurrences.
