As a global law firm with 44 offices and over 2,500 staff worldwide, Kennedys is closely monitoring the impact of Coronavirus (COVID – 19) and following the advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local governments in order to protect our staff and ensure that we continue to support our clients.
The safeguarding of our staff is of paramount importance and we are providing regular updates to them on both the situation and the necessary precautions to take including hygiene, travel and agile working advice.
As Kennedys already operates and promotes agile working our IT infrastructure means that our partners and staff in all jurisdictions are able to work remotely – ensuring that the service we deliver to our clients remains unaffected.
Our business continuity action plan – what we are doing
To minimise and mitigate the potential impact on our operations, our ongoing action plan comprises:
- Regular crisis management team meetings to continuously monitor the status of the virus and assess risks to our people, our clients and our global business.
- The safeguarding of our staff in relation to travel and hygiene.
- Operational and IT planning to ensure everybody has the tools and ability to work remotely if advised to by local governments.
- Resource planning including team rotas to enable social distancing so client teams are appropriately split in terms of remote and office working, in order to reduce the risk of client teams being affected at the same time.
- Business impact analysis to consider long-term solutions that protect our people and ensure that service to our clients remains unaffected.
- Supplier chain management to ensure the impact of services provided to Kennedys is minimised.
- Working closely with our landlords to ensure that necessary precautions are taken within the buildings in which our people operate and our clients visit.
While the infrastructure we have in place puts us in a strong position to minimise our exposure to the potential impacts of the Coronavirus, we will continue to closely monitor the developments of the virus.
Meetings, events and seminars – what changes we are making
Our clients and contacts can continue to receive regular important legal and industry updates via our webinars, however we will be introducing some in-person events. Please see our full programme of events here.
Local government and WHO advice will be monitored and followed, however if you have any queries regarding attending events please contact our events team.
