To apply for a Relevant Legal Training (RLT)/Practice Training Contract (PTC) in our Singapore office you will need to have achieved, or be on course to achieve, a 2:1 degree or higher*, have relevant intern experience and a real desire to undertake the work Kennedys Legal Solutions specialises in; Aviation, Commercial Litigation, Corporate, Insurance, Liability Defence and Marine. Mandarin skills (writing, reading and speaking) is advantageous but not essential.
From January 2025, the practice training period under the new practice training framework is 12 months,. Kennedys PTC commences every January, there will be 3 Seats (1 Core Seat, 2 Secondary Seats) across different practice areas spanning across the 12-month period: 3 months, 6 months, 3 months. RLT remains as 6 months, and our RLT commences around August each year. We encourage candidates to apply for RLTs commencing in August 2025 and 2026, and PTCs commencing in January 2026 and 2027.
Trainees will get exposure to both local and international work in different jurisdictions and will be given the opportunity to be involved at an early stage in assisting with file management, complex research, drafting of pleadings, affidavits and submissions. You will learn directly from partners and senior lawyers, shadowing them at Court and at client meetings and will be given exposure to our global practice to give you a varied and high-quality workload.
All trainees are assigned a mentor to help guide and support them through their RLT/PTC. We also have a partner dedicated to overseeing your RLT/PTC.
