Trevor is a London-based Partner and member of Kennedys’ Strategy Board. Qualifying in England and Wales in 1980, Trevor was the co-founder and senior partner of a boutique insurance law firm, which merged with Kennedys in 2008.
Trevor advises on a variety of insurance and reinsurance claims, policy drafting and coverage disputes. He specialises in advising on coverage and directly handles significant losses in the UK and abroad including large and complex property, casualty, professional indemnity, product liability, product recalls and contingency risk claims. Trevor is also a member of our Caribbean practice team.
Drawing on his particular expertise in medical device and pharmaceutical litigation, Trevor is currently representing manufacturers in some of the largest, most high-profile group claims in the UK and EMEA. These claims involve a variety of products such as metal on metal hips and pelvic mesh, including claims arising from one of the largest voluntary global recalls of its kind.
Trevor has represented the insurance market in numerous significant losses such as the Glasgow School of Art fire (2018), a US$100m explosion at a power station in Jamaica, the 2008 Channel Tunnel fire, and substantial claims arising from allegedly defective ship propulsion units, as well as defending complex professional indemnity claims against barristers and other professions.
He has also handled various multi-million pound product claims involving alleged benzene contamination of carbonated drinks, international pharmaceutical drug recalls and group claims against manufacturers of prostheses.
Trevor is a regular industry speaker on topics ranging from general coverage issues and product liability to large property losses and business interruption. He is the only solicitor member of the Fellowship Vetting Committee of the Academy of Experts. He is also a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL). He is a co-author of the latest edition of Kennedys’ Claims Handling Law and Practice Guide which was published in February 2021.
