Legal apprenticeships

In order to attract the best talent from a range of backgrounds we know that it is important to offer a route to school leavers to train as a lawyer.

  • 42 UK apprentices
  • 7 offices
  • 3 awards

Kennedys offer legal apprenticeships that are aimed at school leavers that have completed A Levels or equivalent studies and are looking to embark on an exciting career and earn as they learn.  As an apprentice, you will gain real-world experience from day one working alongside our experienced lawyers.

Our two year paralegal apprenticeship offers an introduction to the fundamentals of legal practice and provides a combination of learning and working within one of our legal teams, resulting in earning the level 4 certificate of higher education in legal services.

In addition to a dedicated supervisor at Kennedys, you will have a tutor and skills coach at BPP, to ensure that you have all the support you need at work and with your studies. Find out more information about BPP here.

Legal apprentices who would like to continue their learning may have the opportunity to join the level 7 solicitor apprenticeship. This takes four years to complete and involves the completion of a (Hons) degree in legal practice and the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) and will lead to qualifying as a lawyer six years after leaving school.

We offer paralegal apprenticeships in the following offices:

  • Cambridge
  • London
  • Manchester
  • Sheffield

Kennedys also offer claims apprenticeships in our Taunton office for school leavers who would like work as an insurance professional.  The 18-month apprenticeship will result in apprentices obtaining a level 3 insurance practitioner qualification. For those who have completed this apprenticeship and wish to continue their studies, we offer the two-year level 4 insurance professional apprenticeship resulting in earning the CII Diploma and working as a claims handler.

Applications for our 2025 legal and claims apprenticeships are now open and will close on 29 February 2025, please click here to apply.
